Today at ASJE International Airport, we're pleased to announce the exciting acquisition of a Boeing 757-200 that once operated for Iceland's national flag carrier, Icelandair, as part of our ASJE Commercial Heritage Museum (ACHM) program.
TF-FIU was delivered to Iceland in October 2004, having previously operated for Iberia as EC-FYK. It was retired from Icelandair's fleet on October 12, 2025, after 20 years of service. This airframe was painted into the iconic "Hekla Aurora - Aurora Borealis" livery in December 2014.
The acquisition of this 32-year-old aircraft is a great triumph for our ACHM program, as its Boeing 757 fleet played a pivotal role in Icelandair's passenger network until the introduction of its successor, the Airbus A321neo.
Authorities are working on when the aircraft will be in our hands and a part of our ACHM program. Updates on this will be released to the public as soon as they become available.
